Common is set to headline this year’s Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. In its 11th year, the festival brought to you by Brooklyn Bodega, has become one of the borough’s most highlighted summer events. The festival highlights more than just Hip-Hop but its entire culture from the music, fashion, art, community support and business.

Just last year, Roc Nation’s Jay Electronica headlined and brought his boss and best friend, Jay Z to perform along with him. While Common has some big shoes to fill from last year’s action packed with Hip-Hop’s elite squad, on July 11th, we’re almost positive the rapper will give Brooklyn its just do.
The Chicago MC is perfect for this year as he is still shining from his Oscar and a Grammy this year for the song he did with John Legend, “Glory”. Many Hip-Hop enthusiast continue to put Common in their top five rappers of all time. Common’s longevity, commitment to the culture and the community are pretty unprecedented.
